Rule of thumb: count your Somfy motors. One or two motors and the Keytis 2 covers it. Three or four motors and a single Keytis 4 replaces a pocketful of separate handsets.
Which Somfy motors an RTS handset works with
Any Somfy motor or receiver carrying the RTS mark responds to a Keytis handset. In the Egyptian market that covers four families:

If your motor is a different brand — ACM, Beninca, Norton, Key, BFT or FAAC — a Keytis is not the part you need. Every control board has its own matched remote. Send a photo of the board and our team identifies the right type for it.
Why a generic remote will not work with Somfy
Most handsets sold as universal in the Egyptian market transmit on 433.92 MHz with a copyable fixed code. Somfy deliberately runs RTS on 433.42 MHz with its own rolling code, where the transmitted value changes on every press. The frequencies do not meet and the code cannot be cloned.
That is a security feature rather than an inconvenience: nobody duplicates your gate handset at a kiosk. The practical consequence is that when a Somfy remote is lost or broken, the replacement has to be an original RTS handset. If yours is behaving strangely rather than failing outright, start with the diagnosis checklist before buying anything.
