Standard vs manual override — the power-cut question
Manual-override models add a hexagonal crank eye: insert the supplied crank and you can wind the shutter open by hand when the power is out. For shops where the shutter is the only entrance, this is essential, not optional. For residential windows with alternative access, the standard model saves the price difference. Torque and override are independent choices — an override model is not a stronger motor.
Tube fitting: the detail that decides installation
The motor is sized to the winding tube diameter — 60 mm octagonal tube is the Egyptian standard, with adapters and crowns matching other profiles. Before ordering, confirm your tube diameter and shape (octagonal/round): a photo of the tube end on WhatsApp settles it, and the right adapter set ships with the motor. Limit switches are then set once at installation so the shutter stops exactly at its top and bottom positions.
Choosing the control: key switch, remote, or both
Direct-wired motors pair with a maintained key switch; receiver-equipped setups take remotes and momentary switches. Both can coexist on receiver systems — remote for daily use, wall switch as backup. If you plan to add smart/Wi-Fi control later, say so when ordering so the receiver choice supports it.
